On Display at the Library:

Paintings by Sue Arnholter

September 2nd through October 31st

Come check out the library’s newest exhibit featuring works by local artist Sue Arnholter. Sue’s paintings will be on exhibit at the library from September 2nd through the end of October.

“As a young teenager I dabbled a little with drawing and oil painting, not really knowing what I was doing. It wasn’t until I reached my 70’s that I picked up a paintbrush and a pan of watercolors in an attempt to improve my knowledge of color theory for making quilts. I still make quilts but most of my time is spent painting now because I enjoy it so much.”

On Display in The Little Gallery:

Photographs by Anna Winand

September 2nd – 30th

Earlier this year, we debuted a new exhibition space in the library, The Little Gallery, a space dedicated to small scale artwork.

Community members are invited to exhibit collections of smaller pieces in rotating shows every month, creating a welcoming place to share creativity and discover local talent.

For the month of September, we welcome photographer Anna Winand –

“A lifelong New Yorker, I worked for the International Center of Photography (ICP) since its opening in 1974. Prior to that I was an associate of The Voice of the Children, a writing workshop for teenagers in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.  We met with the children on a voluntary basis on Saturday mornings and after a time writing and talking we took the children on day trips around the city. On Sundays people used to (perhaps they still do) congregate near the Bandshell in Central Park to be seen and to connect. I went to photograph.  Photography was always a part of my life from early on. In 2012 I moved full time to Craryville New York.”
