Below are some current opportunities for getting involved.

Helping in the Library

Volunteers are needed to help with a variety of library tasks, such as helping to inventory and organize our local history materials, deliver materials to the homebound, and with occasional special projects. We also are looking for volunteers to help with our summer reading programs.

Music

If you like all kinds of music, if you like attending small, intimate concerts, if you can spare two hours a month, join us. Responsibilities include input into the selection of the library’s music events and setting up for and breaking down after each concert. This committee is great fun!

Gardening

The Garden Group maintains the gardens gracing the library and develops gardening programs. Maintenance is not more than once/month average for a couple of hours at a time. The group plans to develop programs to educate the community – both adults and children – on gardening and how to grow and maintain healthy, self-sustaining outdoor spaces. If gardening is in your blood, if you have a green thumb and would like to make the library even more beautiful, please join the Garden Group.

Friends of the Library

The Friends raise money to support the Library and are Library advocates. They operate a bookstore in the lower level of the Library the first Saturday of every month. Friends also help with events such as the annual Community Picnic, raise money with a Cookies, Soup, and Books sale, and more. You can learn more about the Friends on their web page.
