Staggered Start
Elinor’s Walk to Support the Library is a 5K Walkathon on Copake town roads and Roe Jan Park trails (3.1 miles). It will raise money to enhance and support the Roeliff Jansen Community Library’s programs, collections and building.
There are rewards for you if you hit these goals:
$25 – Elinor’s Walk T-Shirt.
$100 – Above plus..Day Pack full of Goodies.
$150 – Above plus… Entry into drawing for a special prize.
$200 – Above plus…Ticket to BBQ being held at Roe Jan Park the same day.
There will be special recognition of the individual and team who raises the most money.
The Walk
The walk will start at Eastern States Drilling on Route 22 at at Yonderview Rd. You can park there. There will be a shuttle bus from the park back to the parking lot. The walk will go down Yonderview, through the Copake Highway Department property and onto the Roe Jan Park walking trails. It’s a 5K, 3.1 mile, walk. It will have a staggered start – start anytime you want between 10:30am and 1:00pm. Sorry, no bikes and no running please. The library and the park both love dogs, but we ask that you leave your pets at home for this event. If you have checks or cash pledges, bring those with you to the sign-in table at the event. Virtual Walkers
If you are can’t actively participate in Elinor’s Walk because you will be out of town, can’t walk 5 kilometers, or have other issues or concerns, you can still participate …. as a Virtual Walker. As a Virtual Walkers you invite your family, friends and colleagues to support your “virtual” walk, and you are eligible for all premiums and prizes. Virtual walkers will play a critical role in the success of Elinor’s Walk. Your support of the Walk and the Library is greatly appreciated.

This website -FirstGiving – lets you easily create a personal page and send emails to friends and family asking them to visit the page and make their pledges online. It makes getting contributions by credit card easy and makes giving convenient for your friends and relatives who live out of town too.
Paper Pledge Sheets
There is also a printable form for keeping track of pledges – HERE – that you can use in addition to or instead of the FirstGiving website. The paper form is good for keeping track of cash and check pledges. Using this website allows credit card donations and sends the necessary tax letter for pledges over $250. All pledges are tax deductible.
