David H. Moore was born in Brooklyn March 4, 1874, and was educated in the schools in that city.  He embarked in the real estate business in Brooklyn and was there for some time.  He was married twice, his first wife being Elizabeth Merrill of Brooklyn and through this union there were three children, Marion, Merrill and Halsey.  For his second wife he married Florence Cummings of Acidalia, Sullivan county and one daughter Julia, was born.

In April five years ago he came to Hillsdale and bought the small place near Black Grocery and engaged in raising garden truck and flowers.  For the past three years he has been the local preacher in charge of the North Hillsdale M.
