We Can’t Do It Without Your Support

Since our new building opened in November 2010, the Roeliff Jansen Community Library has become an essential community resource for everyone who lives in the Roe Jan area, as well as many visitors to our towns. Not just as a repository of the world’s knowledge, but as a vibrant center for learning and community-based initiatives, the Library fills a role like no other institution in our area.

That’s especially true for those who have been hit hard by the economic crisis, and might not be able to afford personal computers and internet service, or even family outings to see a movie. They are using the Library’s high-speed computers to find jobs, explore new career options, help their children with their homework, and borrow films and books and DVDs free of charge.

In addition to a wide variety of children’s programs, concerts, talks and art exhibits, the Library has become the place to go to learn, to share ideas with friends and colleagues and to learn about new ways to give back to the community they love.

Forty seven hours a week, including Sundays, and 24/7 online, the library serves the varied needs of seniors, adults, young adults, children and toddlers — free of charge.

This is only possible because of the generosity of our community — 55% of the library’s operating budget comes from donations from people like you. Donations pay for salaries, for programs, for heat, books, snow plowing and internet access.

Here’s the bottom line: the people of this community can’t afford to do without the Roeliff Jansen Community Library, and we can’t afford to do without your support!

Whether it’s $1, $25 or $50, $500 or $1,000 or $100,000, your donation helps us fulfill our mission: To inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge, and strengthen our communities. Just click on the image below to make your donation.

Please get behind this great cause—so we can move forward together!

The Roeliff Jansen Community Library is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization. Donations made to the Library are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
