The new
library will be a “green” building…environmental,
economical, ethical, educational.
The use of
green technologies will significantly reduce energy consumption, and the
annual savings in heating and cooling expenses will help keep operating
costs at a minimum for the entire life of the building.
Up to 75% of
additional costs for implementing green technologies will be subsidized by
NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, a state
organization that is funded from pennies that have been added to all of our
utility bills).
